In an endeavour to go back to basics, I decided to dive into film photography at the beginning of 2023. Hours of YouTube tutorials and advice from friends made the process easier and having put a few rolls through my AE-1, I have to say I’m glad I took the plunge. The combination of the mechanical shutter, advancing the film and taking time to dial in the composition and exposure is very satisfying and I really can’t recommend it enough.
