These images and words provide a small insight into the work that I have done for Benton Performance over the last eighteen months. A full website overhaul with my images and words provided a solid foundation upon which to build, which I duly did. See more at bentonperformance.com.
The cornerstone of good PR (in my opinion) is maintaining a good human presence and a great way to do this is host an event. During my time at Benton Performance, I was able to spearhead four events: Shamrock and Rollout, the Benton Open House, Nachtgekuhlt and the Benton BBQ. Every event had a different theme, a different flavor, while simultaneously allowing the shop to deepen its footprint in the SoCal Porsche community.
Benton Performance has its own unique identity and a great way to cement that is to offer Benton merchandise. To that end, we sell T-shirts, horn buttons and Maxilite wheels, in addition to MOMO products at a new online store. As an aside, it gets rather cold in Anaheim during the winter. After field testing one of their “Trucker” jackets for a few months, I was able to commission a set of jackets for the crew from Levi’s, emblazoned with Benton “B”.
A fun shoot with the shop’s workhorse, a aircooled VW Single Cab truck, at Lower Grand DTLA.
An idea which led to a conversation, which led to this set of images. A morning spent tearing up and down El Mirage dry lakebed in John’s Mein12 was as much fun for him as it was for us.
Sometimes the crazy idea turns into a memory for the ages.
After co-ordinating with the Ryans, John was able to take a day off from the shop and appear on a podcast with Jay and Nicole. He has since been back for Round 2!
